Case Study

Texas Gateway

A three-app suite giving educators the resources they need for their K-12 classrooms.

The Texas Gateway is an ecosystem created for Texas Education Agency (TEA) and its K-12 education system. The ecosystem is used in over 20 regions by more than 5 million teachers and students, to provide better systems for assessment creation, standardization, and reporting. We were tasked to redesign an existing basic assessment system and to create two additional new systems: (1) an advanced assessment application and (2) an educational framework management system.

The Ecosystem

  • SSO: Single sign-on portal that connects all TEA applications in ecosystem
  • GAL: App for students, parents and teachers to administer, complete and report on standard assessments
  • EMSTAR: App for students, parents and teachers to administer, complete and report on more advanced assessments
  • TEKS: App for TEA administrators to collaborate on existing and new curriculum frameworks for the state of Texas
